Second part of the directory of the tradesmen, nobility, gentry, clergy etc in the main towns and villages of the county of Lancashire in 1828, excepting Liverpool and Manchester. The directory is divided into seperate sections for each town. Each section lists first the nobility, gentry and clergy in alphabetical order, then a list of the tradesman, ordered by type of trade. The listing gives full name (where known), and street address (for the larger towns). If the section covers surrounding villages as well as the one named, the name of the village is given in the address. Following the tradesmens' section is a miscellanous section which gives the trade/profession as well as the name and address, ordered alphabetically, then finally there is a list of carriers, ordered by destination, giving the name of the operator and the place and times they depart.
Most names are listed with the surname first, but this is reversed for inkeepers, carriers, agents and employees. Where a listing for a particular trade continues to the next page, the trade heading has been added to the text version where necessary. Asterisks etc have been removed from the text version, the PDF file should be viewed in all cases to ensure extra information is not missed.
