Holden's annual London and Country Directory 1811, Lancashire Part A

World location: UK & Ireland
Country location(s): England
'Region' and/or city location(s): Lancashire, Liverpool
Town/locale: Bacup, Blackburn, Burnley, Cartmel, Chowbent, Chorley, Colne, Garstang, Haslingdon, Kirkham & Freckleton, Lancaster, Leigh, Liverpool, Oldham, Ormskirk, Poulton, Prescot, Preston, Rochdale, Warrington, Wigan
Directory of the principal inhabitants, tradesmen, merchants and professionals of some of the larger towns in Lancashire, excluding Manchester and Bolton. The listing is alphabetical by surname, followed by first name (where known) or initial, and occupation/position, then street address.
Holden's directory was organised purely alphabetcally by town, rather than into counties, with one volume containing mostly the larger cities and towns, and another the smaller towns. The directory is somewhat arbitrary as to which towns are included, so some of the towns you might expect to see are not included - see under the locale heading above for a full list. Because of the way the directory is organised, the towns of Lancashire have been extracted and recompiled digitally. However, none of the text under each town heading has been changed at all and is reproduced exactly as it appears in the directory.
